Special concerts are also held, for example, for high church festivals. Many additional concerts complementing the church music programme are organised by other promoters.
For information on the latest concert programme, please see the events calendar.
The choir of the Französische Kirche, i.e. the Huguenot community, was founded by Michael Ehrmann – originally for the West-Berlin section of the parish – and is currently directed by Holger Perschke. It rehearses at the church community centre in Berlin-Halensee and also performs at church services and concerts at the Französische Friedrichstadtkirche.
The cantor and organist at the Französische Friedrichstadtkirche is Kilian Nauhaus. Kilian Nauhaus was born in Halle an der Saale in 1960. He completed the Church Proseminar in Naumburg and studied church music in his home town. After he had done his A-examination, he worked for one-and-a-half years as a choir assistant and lecturer (also in Halle), until he changed to his present position in 1987. His prodigious concert activity has taken him to countless churches and musical centres throughout Germany, as well as in other countries – both as an organ soloist and performing together with renowned musicians and ensembles. In 2010, the church leadership of the Evangelical Church of Berlin-Brandenburg-schlesische-Oberlausitz appointed him their church music director.
Kilian Nauhaus has also made a name for himself on radio, television and CD recordings.
